“One thing I never realized when I was an actor was just how much Casting Directors love their work” - Dale

In his two plus decades of casting, Dale has worked in independent film, reality television and industrial film, very happily returning home to legit theater.  He recently completed casting for the interactive production of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (with Jason Syres) playing at the Faena Theater in Miami and a special holiday engagement of Kris Kringle for Proctor's Mainstage.  His work with Milwaukee Rep continues the recent acclaimed production of Mark Clements' West Side Story, following last season's Things I Know To Be True, May Adrales' productions of The Chinese Lady and In the Heights; a three way production of Milwaukee Rep, Seattle Rep and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.  Other recent projects include the critically acclaimed production of the Life Jacket Theatre's America Is Hard To See Off-Broadway, the NYC production of Daddy Long Legs (Drama Desk Nom.), Lives of Reason for Two River Theater and Chicago Shakespeare’s production of Paul Gordon’s Sense and Sensibility.

Dale started casting with Susan Fried, working in independent film and the first 2 seasons of “The Next Food Network Star”.  He was introduced to Broadway casting when he joined Tara Rubin Casting in 2007.  There, highlights of his work were spearheading ongoing casting for the Broadway, tour and Las Vegas companies of The Phantom of the Opera and the joy of being on the team casting Billy Elliot from the original Broadway cast through it’s 3 subsequent tours.

In collaboration with Stewart/Whitley Casting, Dale cast the new musical Nerds for the Philadelphia Theatre Company, the NYC lab production of Maltby & Shire’s new musical Waterfall and the Networks tours of Kathleen Marshall’s production of Anything Goes and Flashdance: The Musical.

Dale’s work with regional theaters includes Arena Stage, Baltimore Center Stage, Westport Country Playhouse, Milwaukee Rep., Syracuse Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Two River Theater and the BANFF Centre in Canada. He has taught for many university programs, and is on the faculty of Stella Adler Studio of Acting, teaching audition technique.  His casting career follows 15 years as a professional actor, bringing unique insight to the paths and challenges facing actors as they pursue their professional careers.

Dale is a member of the Casting Society of America and an honors graduate of Kalamazoo College and the BESGL Theater Program in London.
